Bangalore-based décor enthusiast Raina describes her home’s interior style as maximal-eclectic. Her residence is brimming with resource-smart ideas. “I believe a home is never truly complete. There is so much that inspires me to create new spaces every now and then. I try do so creatively, without spending money; I forage, recycle or use everyday items in a clever way,” she says, explaining that her rental’s aesthetic has evolved over the past four years since moving in.
An army brat, Raina’s design sensibilities are influenced by the many service quarters she’s lived in throughout her childhood. “My mom always knew how to make a house a home; we always had a garden of seasonal flowers. So, I love styling my own home with outdoor elements,” she elaborates. Instagram’s home décor community has helped fine-tune her knowledge on the subject.
After setting up an inspiring home office at the start of lockdown, Raina focused on making the kitchen more functional through better organization. But true joy came with the recent relaxation of quarantine rules. She went wild at a local nursery, adding to her family of plants that’s now close to a hundred!

I love styling with outdoor elements. I am a true forager; plants, stones and flowers dot my home.
My favourite space is my balcony. What started out as a small collection of succulents is now a thriving tropical jungle hosting over 90 plants. It is the perfect coffee and reading nook.
The work-from-home space is minimalist and practical.
